The Second Strategy for Retaining Guard

As long as you could prevent your opponent from pulling your arm or your leg free, that's always going to keep you in the fight. That space between your armpit and your hip, that's the space that we're trying to protect. If that gets opened up, then we create an opportunity for our opponent to occupy that space with a partial there body. And once your opponent puts a wedge on your torso and cuts your arms away from your legs, it's going to be real hard to get that space back.
