What Is the Difference Between Understanding and Knowledge?

What is the difference between understanding and knowledge? It's a great question. I agree in part with willingham, but not completely. You can think of understanding as along a continuum, as opposed to being binary. If knowledge is what you want, i can assess that through a straightforward quiz test,. Hillward's knowledge is minary. But understanding is more a matter of degree. And i don't simply think that more knowledge equals understanding.
