We Don't Want to Jam a CTO Down Their Teeth
VCs have told me that this is too core, whatever is ancillary, we can support them be it HR, legal, et cetera. These are core things that the startup needs to have in house. A third VC fund said that we don't invest unless there's a CTO already on staff. And if something is needed, he can kind of bring in others, but it would, like we don't want to force you down their throat. It'll send the wrong signal.
