The Relationship Between a Song and a Record Label

I thought Shape of You was cookie cutter and lazy. It took longer for me to learn how to write a song like that than Boat, which is the first song on the album. There's like a weird energy around pop music where it's seen as this throwaway thing. And I think it's because it's not got the connection to heart. So I don't think I'm going to get remembered for Shape of You in years time.
