J.R. J.R. was a member of the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He served as an officer in Vietnam from 1961 to 1966. His son, also a soldier, died after being shot at close range while on duty with his father's military helicopter crew. The younger brother is currently serving time for war-related incidents and has been released without charge.
