Is Going Vegetarian the Best Diet for Endurance Athletes?

If you are an endurance athlete and want to adopt a plant-based diet, I certainly wouldn't be discouraged by Roman Grosjons or anyone else's comments who hasn't tried it. Some endurance athletes use the energy gels for carbohydrates during races whereas others prefer to use dried fruits, dates and other whole food-derived snacks like homemade fruit and nut energy bars. Adopting a plant- based diet is certainly an option for endurance athletes and something I encourage such athletes to look at doing. It's no different to implementing anything else new in your life. It starts with learning.
