The Effects of Focus on the Brain
Your brain has two modes that it seesaws between throughout the day, and it can't be both at once. People spend too much time in the central executive mode where they're just always thinking about something. Your mind is this, you know, it's like an iceberg. You can only keep about four things in your mental consciousness at one time. And so mindfulness is so important, because it gives you this intentional space to let your mind process whatever it happens to be chewing on in the moment.
