Chimps show a 100 to 150 times the amount of aggression than humans do. The peace-loving bonobos show less aggression than the chimps, but still way more than any human society ever recorded. We have this built-in social anxiety, some researchers have called it the sociometer,. Where we sort of monitor how we appear in the eyes of others.

Men fight. Sometimes they look silly when they fight. But they also collaborate and team up to take on common enemies. Women fight in very different ways that are less obvious, but no less vicious, and they sometimes try to even scupper their own teammates.
