The Hellenistic Schools and Their Legacy
When Aristotle died in 322, ancient philosophy had been going for a couple of centuries. Plato and Aristotle wrote in the fourth century BC. The better part of a millennium would pass before ancient philosophy drew to a close. Late antique philosophy was passed on to medieval thinkers in the Christian, Muslim, and Jewish traditions.
