When I was coaching, working with athletes, I tried to build confidence within them via the workouts and to say, hey, look what you did last week. And how does that compare to what we expect to see on race day? Okay, we're probably going to see higher numbers on race day but that's actually where anxiety can help you. Those butterflies can actually help elevate the performance as well.
