The Role of Design in Service Design
Think of terrain as the environment or ecosystem in which all players play. If there's a national park with dozens of trails, the terrain is the entire park itself. This feels to me that terrain is the current realm. It's the extent and state of the world as we can currently observe it and map it. But your space is not known and mapped. You have, this is the sandbox you have to play with. Now in some situations, that's going to be something we design and create. In other situations, it's going to being something we've mapped or inherited. Right? And reflects our current understanding of that space or our current extent of influence of the space. So maybe
