The Importance of Expectations in Therapy

I want to ask you about expectations. Should people be aware of expectations of how they should feel or how to know if or not it's working for you? There's some other research out there that does indicate like, depending on the severity and chronicity of your presenting concerns. If you've been dealing with repressed childhood trauma for 40 years, you're probably going to be in therapy for longer than a month. But I do want to say, long term issues take quite a long time to unpack process.
