It is not too late to do an annual review, even though it's the start of January. It'll help you to go back over your last year and set goals for the new one. Having guided questions or prompts can be very, very useful. And there's nothing that will substitute for just physically going through a process and writing it down. If you end up setting up a bunch of goals that help you achieve a thing, which this year reflected as a negative experience, like I hate working on my statistics... You've got to grow out of the first part of the review.
