I think we were both profoundly involved in the death process of another person. When you walk so closely with someone, it feels like your world. And then when that experience does come to a close, I was sort of left with this sort of gasps like, Oh my God, I'm still here. It felt like my second half of life started. That's one thing that death was made very clear to me through the process is that this is something she had to go through on her own.
