The Role of Relaxation in Chronic Conditions
relaxation therapy is using evidence-based relaxation techniques to reduce chronic conditions. It was born out of an experiment in the 1970s between an immunologist and a psychologist Robert Ader and Nicholas Cohen American academics. They identified that through a conditioned response so same as Pavlov's jobs what they did was gave rats delicious sweet saccharin water paired it with cyclophosphamide which is an immunosuppressant and the rats got sick. When the rats were given only the sweet water they still continued to get sick, some of them went on to die.
