Freer asserts that the very existence of education proves the reality that humans are always in a state of becoming. If education is to reflect this truth rather than obscure it, it too must be an open-ended activity constantly being remade. Only this method of education can equip regular people with the tools necessary to struggle for their own liberation from dehumanizing constructs handed down to us through history.
