When he was growing up his mom would cook all day, all night and 12 to 14 hours a day in the restaurant. "I look back now and all of that stuff shaped me, obviously" He decided not to be an Asian chef because he didn't want to put together some makeshift thing before he understood it. The only time he ever got embarrassed is when he brought someone over for dinner on their first date.
