A lot of pushback on Meta is the fact that these social networks have obviously network effects, which allow them to spring up very quickly. But those same network effects also have the ability to unwind the social networks quickly. Andrew Weinrich had this idea for the first social network ever in 1997. He actually had this idea of having people mail in photos and he'd have a production line of interns just scanning them.
