Is There a Counterfactual?

I admit that's a frustration I have with Yudkowsky because he's really going hard on the, we're doomed, take your cyanide pills, folks. And I'm like, what is the counterfactual that you wish were happening here? I think the Azure is great. You should actually just email him and ask. Maybe he could back to you. Or tweet at him even. He loses nothing by asking. But my guess would be that his answer would be, we don't know how far away it is. We're preparidomatic on this. This is coming at some point. Whether or not we can predict it accurately isn't helpful either.
