Is the Respiratory System Overbuilt for Purpose?

When we talk about the respiratory system being overbuilt for purposes, we can kind of explain it with a really simple example. If you were to get somebody to do what we call a maximum voluntary ventilation test, then they're not going to max out their envelope. Most people don't hit 200 leaders per minute. It's going to be maybe one, 81, 90 leaders per minute and that's if they're really well trained.
