Is It OK to Make Multiple Big Leaps in One Lexicon?

I think it's okay to move sometimes these big leaps but I think that to make several big leaps in one lexicon is kind of pushing it a little bit occasionally. It starts to just kind of, my suspension of disbelief is just kind of destroyed just briefly by that. But for most purposes of conlangers, whether it is a naturalistic conlang, even things like an oxlang or an inchlang, there's a sense of people have to speak this language.
