ADHD and Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria
Research has found that people who have strong working memory have very effective ways of managing emotions. People with weaker working memory struggle for the capacity to regulate emotions and many people who have ADHD struggle with working memory challenges as well as with processing speed issues. Any kind of persistent stress in your life whether it's at work or home or at school can trigger the amygdala to automatically respond to send out that adrenaline and cortisol to move into fight, flight or freeze before your frontal lobes can provide any logical reasoning to the situation. Now if you have ADHD you may also live with rejection sensitivity dysphoria which is a common coexisting condition although not a formal diagnostic category.
