Gambling Machines Teach You Things You Don't Want
Most games teach things that we don't actually care about. They are teachers and we are learning from them, but they're not important. This is more to do with something called variable schedules of reward. That's rather than getting a reward every time you do something, you get one every now and then. And this works with rats pressing a lever to get food as much as it works with people playing slot machines and gambling.
