The Zahavian Signal
The Zahavian Signal refers to the ability of an organism to display certain traits or behaviors that signal its genetic fitness. This is associated with something called signaling theory as well. In order for something to be honest, it must be costly. The effectiveness of the signal that the person or the animal is demonstrating lies in the honesty and the more honest, the more effective it is.
