Is It Better to Have Conversations on a Virtual Team?
Virtual teams working asynchronously, in particular, have more conflict. When there is a conflict or a disagreement, things can escalate on email if people are not stepping back and waiting to think about how they want to respond. There's a difference between saying, here's what you're wrong about and advocating what i think should happen here to the whole group. So now you also have an audience for the conflict, which raises the stakes, identitywise, for somebody getting thwacked.
