The Importance of Incentives for Producing the Things People Want
Alex Castellanos: Would it not be better to have a society that runs practically smoothly in which people who do have talents are rewarded? He says the moral importance of providing incentives that causes more people to get the stuff they want is essentially an argument that draws implicitly on the importance of consumer welfare.Castellanos: If we take away this idea that people do deserve to be at the top, even if they don't, without that kind of reward for getting there, I feel like we might live in a world where people are less likely to produce those kind of things that people want.
