Women Do Not Need as Much Rest Between Sets as Men Do
Women need less rest between sets than men do, because a set of five for a female is not as fatiguing a neuro muscular event. A strong woman who is doing three sets of five, for example, with two 25, might only need to rest four minutes between sets since she didn't recruit as much muscle mass into the movement as he did. And another, another ramification of this is the fact that men generally only do one heavy work set of dead lifts because it beats the pit out of you.
