The one thing that might make sense and this has always been a really confusing thing for me is the topical non-storied, all rub-on creams. It's very hard to imagine that that gets like, for instance, deep into your tissue. And some of the structures we're talking about are really deep, like centimeters below the surface. So I think that even if it weren't working chemically, sometimes if you rub that area, just the rubbing part with your fingers is helping to get rid of the tendon tension or help a little localized stretch. If necessary, a cortisone injection right there.
