Ben: I would not immediately discount social proof, especially if there was research saying we don't trust the claims you're making on the page. Maybe it's so far down on the page that you need to promote it higher. Johnny: My hypothesis going into this now is that this widget is either too high up on the page as blocking content or it's too heavy on the page load. If I see too many people are clicking onto this widget and leaving the page, maybe I want to go for an approach that doesn't take people off the page. That's kind of what I would do.
