How Important Is Hydration in Exams?
For every 1% loss in overall hydration, we lose about 5% of cognitive power. A follow-up study looked at what happens when participants are back to normal hydration levels. The people who'd been dehydrated the day before was still performing worse in their exams. So it's not just short term dehydration that affects our ability to do well in exams.
