Lactate and Lycolysis
Nature doesn't like when things are really, really neatly ordered. And so we're always going to be creating a little bit of lactate and it diffuses. When it diffuses out of a muscle during exercise, there's very non zero chance that it comes right back into that same muscle and gets used. So the odds that get that lacta is used in oxidated phosphorelation probably has a lot more to do with mitoconjural density and transportor density. That's a big factor in what limits arobic lactate utilization in muscles.
