How to Passivate a Kettle
The point of passivation is to remove iron deposits from the surface of the kettle. ASTM industry standards suggest using nitric or citric acid. I couldn't find anywhere that it says, yeah, absolutely, you can use star sand for passivating a kettle. But I have a personal experience with this. And I think a lot of people have.
