Jase: A 2016 study that was also conducted at UCLA by Dr. Michelle Krask involved 88 people who had a fear of spiders. They divided them randomly into four groups and they brought them indoors to sit in front of yet another live tarantula sitting behind a screen. The participants were asked to do what's known as affect labeling, reappraisal or distraction therapy.
