How to Make Sustainability Work for Your Business?
Having a long-term perspective on your business is extremely smart when it comes to sustainability, says Shal Oda. A lot of family-owned businesses have this attitude that the business that they run that they're just taking care of it for this generation and that they need to make sure their kids when they inherit it will also have a great vibrant business to develop. I think not all companies have that privilege of being able to ignore quarterly earnings but I think the more sort of quarterly earnings-focused companies become at explaining to their investors and consumers eventually that these long-term investments are actually a way to sustain shareholder value or even grow shareholder value the more we will benefit.
