The Positive Relationship Between Technology and the Natural World

I grew up in the hippie community and we're around people who are very concerned about the environment. And I think there's real reason why we need to be deeply concerned about, for instance, the Amazon. But I also think that environmental catastrophism can be misleading. Where I grew up, when I was a child, bald eagles were very uncommon. We have 26 wolf packs in Washington state now. If you look at the UNECE cultures, which includes almost the entire Northern Hemisphere,. There is a substantial net regrowth of forests through that entire region. So human beings can shift their relationship to nature.
