7 Reasons God Exists

In the Arena: The Debates and Lectures of William Lane Craig

CHAPTER

The Origin of the Universe

Atheists have said that the universe is just eternal, and that's all. But mathematicians recognize that existence of an actually infinite number of things leads to self-contradictory answers. In fact, you can subtract infinity from infinity and get any result from zero to infinity. This shows that infinity is just an idea in your mind, not something that exists in reality. It seems to me that this is a sound argument for thinking that the explanation of why anything exists rather than nothing is to be found in a personal, transcendent, unembodied mind which is necessary in its existence.
