Cattle are weaned from the mamma cow for about six months. They then go into a feed yard and they will be harvested. Backgrounding, to the lay person would mean, would basically mean youre feeding those calves. And ind n inhe differences out here in nebraska, they will do things different than what we do things in in Illinois.
