The History of Ice Cream

In 1943, the US military shipped 143 million pounds of dehydrated base of ice cream to the front lines. They had a whole ship in the Pacific theater distributing ice cream. There's also anecdotes about US bomber crews figuring out that they could put buckets of ice cream mix on the outside of the bomber.
