This came out just last week in frontiers of nutrition. It took 10 men 30 to 50 years old who were pretty advanced triathletes and it had them go on low carb, high fat diets. The study found that their high intensity performance 85% of VO2 max was sustained but they had record high fat oxidation rates. So these are some of the people that fall into the male cohort of athletes that maybe need to think a little bit more than throwing as many carbs in as you can throughout the process.
