Are You in a Partnership or Limited Liability Company?
Don't go into a partnership unless you basically couldn't do it yourself. And even if you do insist on going to a partnership, get a fricking airtight partnership agreement drawn up by a competent lawyer that is going to ask you all those tough questions like, what if you die? What if you have kids? What if the studio closes? What if, you know, whatever, so all of that stuff. Then you have to think about liability, right? So just say the studio does go bankrupt. They're just going to come after you for the full amount owing.
