Hip extension falls total body because it ties into the dead lift family. Most olympic weight lifting coaches will teach top down, because the catch is so important. But i don't need to catch a bar to get what i need out of olympic lift - hip extension. I can do a shrug pull, i can do a power pull without y having to catch. Is there value in doing olympic lifts in an athletic base training programm? And a lot of people say there's value, yes. They'll go all in on emand then there's some that say no, cause it's a sporting activity. That's why i like the variations of those lifts
