The main thing I always emphasize is that one thing done consistently is better than eight things done inconsistently. So add one piece to your routine, make it stick. And as you can add more or maybe adjust and try something else for a period of time, just to experiment and see what really works for you. The why is because at its root sense is because I can. Even before you've even taken a step, the fact that you can is so key.
