The sadism the deep-seated desire to inflict pain on the most vulnerable and marginalized people in society is alive and well across the world. i have long held that there is an exhilaration and almost a static pleasure that reactionaries get by imposing suffering on those they deem below them particularly if those people are rising against their oppression.
