Do You Really Need to Think About Happiness?
In your first book, you talk about how we can design our lives so we don't need to think about happiness. And i wonder, for people who are not fam with your work, if you could somewhare yer rational behind that? The behavioral sciences tell us a very basic message: most of what we do comes about rather than being thought about. So the extent to which we really deliberatly, unconsciously think about what we do is very limited. It's why sometimes when you wonder whether you have to check whether you've turned the oven off, locke the house,. because these are automated processes that when you think about whether yo've done them, you don't actually know
