Are You Working on the Most Important Things?
In terms of increasing effectiveness, I define effectiveness as the amount of high quality work you can do in a given period of time. You need to make sure you're working on the most important things and that you are doing that with mental sharpness. Are they easy ones and also cognitively challenging? And then when we have hard non-urgent tasks, which actually need to be done much longer than Cognitively Challenging Ones, does this help us get better at them? That's my pitch for making sure that you're doing the most important tasks.
