The Difference Between Anger and Hatred

Within the early tradition, so far as I can tell, there is no distinction to be made between anger and hatred. The famous, famous sutta in the early tradition says anyone who has an angry mindset is not following my instruction. But that's one thing I think righteous anger is another thing. So I don't really see them, I know those, they can be used in the same way interchangeably sometimes even in the early teachings.
