How to Hygienicize Your Period
You should be using just a gentle mild soap on the outside of your genitals. You don't need to get up in there because you're probably actually pushing more bacteria up when it's trying to get out. Your finger might inadvertently be disturbing the vaginal bacteria that's there, but also drying out that tissue in your vagina which makes you more susceptible to bacteria and infections anyways.
