Perryander was often considered one of the seven sages of Greece. He married Melissa, the daughter of Proclus, who had made himself tyrant of Epidorus. His youngest son Lycophrone went on a self-imposed exile to Corcyra. Perryander fell into a depression that eventually led to his death in 585 BC.
