The flight was following another plane that was on short final. They were also told that the previous arrival happened about four minutes earlier, and reported a smooth ride all the way down. The captain responded with, appreciate the pirate from that guy in front of us. He mistook that pilot report from the plane on short final, not the one that had landed four minutes before.
