The Importance of Balanced Fluids in Resuscitation

There's unfortunately not any clinical trial published that compared different volume of fluid given to this patient during the initial resuscitation phase. So I think if you know your patient has our failure and they do enough disease, knowing doing their food assessment in the beginning before you give the fluid is key. The British guidelines actually kind of recommend giving the like 250 or maybe 500 ml kind of aliquots and doing that. But there are patients where that aggressive fluid will actually do us much more harm in the long run than good.
